5 TIPS FOR TRAVELING ALONE

Be brave! Travelling alone can intimidated you and it’s true that sometimes it is overwhelming. Nothing happens, all you should do is remember every day that you are plotting your own adventure and this experience is going to help you grow as a person. It’s something that you must do once in a lifetime, yes or yes.
Enjoy your time alone and make every moment a beautiful opportunity to discover and discover yourself. A tip: document your adventure, in a future you will love re-reading those special moments that you have lived.
1. Stay connected.
Yes, you should actually keep some people updated. Remember 127 Hours? Yeah. You don’t want that to be you. Check in with a family member or friends regularly so at least someone out there knows where you are and that you’re safe. Better yet? Give someone back home your physical itinerary and update them when it changes. Little precautions like these literally do save lives.
2. Loneliness is real so enjoy it.
Many solo travellers focus on meeting new people all the time. Travelling in groups means doing sometimes things you do not want to, and skipping some plans you would have loved. There is one reason why you chose to travel on your own, you can do anything you want and it is a great chance to get to know yourself better, so enjoy it.You might get lonely. It’s true. Traveling solo isn’t all exciting, confident escapades and joyous, self-finding scenes. There will be moments of loneliness and you might even cry and wonder why you’re in an unfamiliar place so far from home by yourself. But you will feel those things and then, most likely, you’ll move onto feeling other things and be on your way to discover something new. It's OK to feel your feelings.
3. Be flexible
Probably you had everything planned out when you left home, but the magical thing about travelling alone is also to go with the flow. Change your plans if you heard of an awesome place that you didn´t think of visiting or make a plan B if you can´t make it to that very special place
4. Immerse in the local culture
One of the biggest pleasures about travelling is learning about new cultures. Before you trip, read about the culture of the countryyou are going to and always respect their traditions. Learning a few basic words in the local language like thank you, hello or please can also be pretty handy and open doors for you. Locals will appreciate your effort!
5. Start a conversation
Even if you feel weird, you never know where you can meet your new best friend. By travelling alone, meet people who make your trip more enjoyable is always enriching.
If you think that a person or a group of people seem nice and funny, go and introduce yourself. A perfect way to start a conversation with someone you don’t know is by asking him where he is from. Although it may seem strange, the worst thing that can happen is that they don’t want to continue the conversation and are people that you will never see again. You have nothing to lose.
